Annual Dorothy’s Hats and High Teas:

This beloved fundraiser celebrates education and honors recipients of the fully endowed Tommy and Dorothy Rice Scholarship Fund, which supports first-generation college students. 

This February, we helped bring moments of joy to more than 100 children at Texas Children’s Hospital by sharing Valentine’s Day bags and treats. These small gestures offered smiles, comfort, and encouragement to young patients during their hospital stay. Hospital leadership expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the support shown to children and families during a challenging time. 

As the season of gratitude approaches, we are honored to celebrate the educators who are at the heart of our schools—Title I teachers—with a thoughtful expression of appreciation. This November, we delivered freshly baked pies as a small but meaningful way to recognize their dedication and the lasting impact they make in the lives of students every day.

After all, sometimes the simplest gestures are the sweetest way to say “thank you.”

We partner with Kids’ Meals Inc. to decorate lunch bags and help pack 100 meals each week for children experiencing food insecurity.

This past summer, we plan to assemble 400 care packs containing cold water, hygiene items, and a prayer card to support individuals and families during Houston’s extreme heat. These care packs will be distributed throughout the greater Houston area to promote safety, dignity, and well-being.
